The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal arch in Paris. It was built between 1806 and 1808 by the Emperor Napoleon I on the model of the Arch of Constantine I (312 AD) in Rome. The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is located on the Place du Carrousel, within the precincts of the Palais du Louvre and was commissioned in 1806 to commemorate Napoleon's military victories of the previous year.

There are two arches that were built by Napoleon - Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and the Arc de Triomphe at Etoile, were to commemorate his victories, and the grand army who had won them. The bronze horses on top of the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was taken from Saint-Marc of Venice.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is composed of threes arches: a big one and two little one. The arc is 63 feet high, 75 feet wide and 24 feet deep. The two small arches are 14 feet, 16 inches high and 9 feet wide. The big arch is 21 feet high and 9 feet wide. The arc is surmounted by a group of men on horses underneath of which, one finds the names of the battles and treaties of Napoleon.
